“Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” — John 7:24
What does honour require when someone is attempting to damage your name, livelihood and family through falsehood?
It does not require silence. It does not require passive surrender. And it does not permit revenge.
Honour concerns how our character works with truth: how we understand cause and effect, distinguish problems from solutions, recognise opportunities to correct what is wrong and protect what is valuable.
The Honour Principle is simple: always use a situation to build with truth, recognising that sometimes something must first be broken down in order to build.

A lie may need to be broken down. A falsified narrative may need to be dismantled. Destructive conduct may need to be confronted. But breaking down must never become the final aim and objective. It must remain on a continuum towards truth, protection, correction, repentance, reconciliation and regeneration wherever these remain possible.

That is the principle at the centre of Lighthouse Global’s decision to report Richard Thomas’s conduct to his employer, KIBO Commerce/Monetate. It also exposes how the BBC took one true fact — that an employer was contacted — stripped away its chronology and motive, and used it to produce and justify a provably false narrative.
How the BBC weaponised a fact

The BBC reduced a long and documented sequence of events to one loaded question: “Why, Paul, have you contacted people’s employers who’ve criticised you?”
The BBC’s implied premise was completely false.
Lighthouse Global did not approach Richard Thomas’s employer to punish him for what was implied to be ordinary and justified “criticism” by an honest innocent critic. It did so after documenting months of provable harassment, threats (leading to death threats), defamatory claims, hate speech (including chronic racism and racial slurs) and destructive online conduct.
KIBO Commerce/Monetate was approached as a responsible, objective third party that could examine the evidence and potentially help stop the conduct before more costly legal proceedings or police involvement became necessary. We were also making enquiries as part of our own investigation into Richard Thomas and as part of our own journalism efforts.
This example shows how truth is weaponised: by selecting one fact and removing the context that gives it meaning.
“Lighthouse contacted his employer” is true. Yet presented without the preceding attempts at resolution, the documented threats and abuse, the concern for KIBO Commerce/Monetate and its clients, the legal advice, and the express request that Mr Thomas should not lose his job if that could be avoided, it becomes a vehicle for a slanderous smear.
That said, as laid out in a previous piece relating to Mr Thomas, surely if what he was doing in relation to his predatory trolling was so virtuous, then his employer would be proud of him and he may even be up for a promotion? Why would there be such great concern from Mr Thomas if what he was doing was genuinely honourable?
Honour demands the whole relevant truth: chronology, context, evidence, motive, cause and effect. Both the BBC and Mr Thomas broke themselves against this principle, almost completely.
Why KIBO Commerce/Monetate was contacted

By December 2021, Lighthouse Global had spent months monitoring and documenting Richard Thomas’s predatory online activity and the wider hate and smear campaign against Lighthouse and its people.
The context matters. In May 2021, Paul S. Waugh had offered Mr Thomas an unwarranted, compassionate refund of £25,000. The evidence shows that the offer was ignored for months. Mr Thomas then became involved in — and helped lead — the anti-Lighthouse subreddit attack platform.
Richard Thomas also publicly identified himself on LinkedIn with Monetate/KIBO Commerce while participating in an online campaign which included threats, degrading abuse, hate speech, chronic racism and racial slurs. His professional identification created a legitimate concern for his employer and for KIBO Commerce/Monetate’s major clients with which he was associated, including Adidas and Next.
On 24th December 2021, Lighthouse wrote to senior executives at KIBO Commerce. The correspondence described the conduct being documented, the reputational harm being caused, the evidence being assembled and the fact that legal advice was being taken.
In this email, Shaun Cooper wrote:
“We believe that as a business and employer, we have a responsibility to inform you of such activity; specifically when it is untrue, defamatory (involving character assassination), and subsequently threatens both of our businesses.”

Subject: Criminal and Civil Investigation into Mr Richard Thomas (Client Success Manager, Kibo)
Dear Mr Zilveti,
The Lighthouse International Group legal counsel has advised us to inform you that there is a criminal and civil investigation being conducted into Mr Richard Thomas.
Regrettably, Mr Thomas has been engaging in numerous unlawful acts online including defamation, malicious falsehoods, character assassination and hate speech; to which your business’s name is associated via his activity.
We believe that as a business and employer, we have a responsibility to inform you of such activity; specifically when it is untrue, defamatory (involving character assassination), and subsequently threatens both of our businesses.
We have been monitoring the trolling activity that has been aimed at our business directly for almost a year, but we are now left with no other alternative than to hold Mr Thomas accountable for his actions.
We are now in the process of reporting the matter to the police and are engaging with the appropriate legal process as he persists in his unlawful and harassing behaviour. Additionally, we believe the national press may also be involved in this matter soon, which was corroborated by Mr Thomas’s own admission in stating that the national press has been in touch with him already.
If you would like to know more details in relation to this case we will gladly forward them to you, subject to our legal counsel’s directive.
In closing, please confirm that Mr David Post has received this communication. I will be following this email up with a registered letter to ensure the CEO is made aware of this activity.
Yours sincerely,
Shaun Cooper
Director, Lighthouse International Group

Shaun Cooper explained that Lighthouse Global had been monitoring the conduct “for almost a year” and was now left with “no other alternative than to hold Mr Thomas accountable for his actions.” The email concluded by offering to provide further details, subject to legal counsel’s direction.
This was a formal notification of documented concerns, not a demand that KIBO Commerce/Monetate dismiss Mr Thomas. It identified the alleged conduct, explained why the employer had a legitimate interest, described the wider legal context and offered supporting evidence. KIBO Commerce/Monetate was being asked to examine the matter — not to accept an unsupported accusation or impose a predetermined outcome.
Four days later, KIBO Commerce’s head of HR, Marjorie Edwards, responded and confirmed that the matter had been passed to her as the appropriate person to address employee concerns.
What Shaun Cooper and Lighthouse Global intended — and what they did not
The purpose of the approach was intervention, not destruction.
Shaun Cooper and Lighthouse Global wanted the hateful and destructive conduct to stop.
We wanted a responsible third party to examine the evidence, mediate accountability and, if possible, help prevent further escalation. We wanted to protect Lighthouse’s reputation and livelihoods, while also protecting KIBO Commerce/Monetate and its clients from being associated with Richard Thomas’ reckless conduct.
We did not approach KIBO Commerce/Monetate to exact revenge. We did not ask the company to accept allegations without evidence. Most importantly, we did not make the loss of Mr Thomas’s employment our aim.
The contemporaneous correspondence makes this explicit. On 18th January 2022, Shaun Cooper wrote to Ms Edwards:
“At the end of the day, we are not here to create a problem for Kibo, we aim to help protect your interests and ours.”
On 22nd January 2022, the intention was stated even more clearly:
“In spite of the malicious nature of his criminal attacks on us and our organisation we do not want Mr Thomas to lose his job if at all possible and under the right circumstances, especially given he has a family to support.”

Those are not the words of people seeking to destroy a livelihood. They are documented evidence of an attempt to stop destructive behaviour while preserving the possibility of reform and reconciliation.
This is the Honour Principle in practice. Loving an enemy does not mean abandoning truth, justice or protection. It means refusing to make destruction the goal even while confronting wrongdoing firmly.
Employer intervention as third-party mediation
We would agree that contacting someone’s employer is wrong and dishonourable if it is done with the sole intention to damage that person’s livelihood, especially when done with malicious falsehoods. But when serious misconduct needs to cease, and there’s evidence that direct efforts to resolve it have failed, then lawful efforts to escalate accountability are reasonable. When the assailant has publicly associated their destructive conduct with their employer, notifying that employer may be a proportionate intermediate step before escalating to litigation or further police involvement.
It gives an accountable organisation the opportunity to request evidence, hear from the employee, assess professional and reputational implications, and seek a resolution. Done properly, this can be less costly and destructive than immediate litigation, and may avoid unnecessarily consuming police time. It is an intermediate step: firmer than private appeals, but potentially more constructive than beginning with court or police proceedings.
That was the course Lighthouse Global pursued.
KIBO Commerce/Monetate subsequently instructed Beverley Sunderland of Crossland Employment Solicitors, an external UK employment specialist, to handle the matter. On 24th January 2022, Ms Sunderland requested the evidence needed for KIBO Commerce/Monetate to consider the allegations properly.
Lighthouse provided it.
By 3rd March 2022, a 514-page evidential submission had been completed and sent to Ms Sunderland, with express authority for it to be forwarded to her client. The pack comprised 11 documents covering activity across Reddit, LinkedIn and Quora, the subreddit Mr Thomas created and moderated, related correspondence, screenshots, timelines, posts, comments and supporting records.
This was not an angry message fired off after an online disagreement. It was a substantial report of documented evidence supplied in response to the employer’s solicitor asking for proof of conduct.
Further updates followed, including police crime references and additional evidence. On multiple occasions, Ms Sunderland confirmed that communications had been passed to KIBO Commerce/Monetate.
What the evidence establishes — and what it does not
The evidence through correspondence establishes that:
- KIBO Commerce/Monetate was notified after direct efforts to reconcile with Richard Thomas had failed.
- Senior HR personnel engaged with the report and took the matter seriously.
- External employment lawyers were instructed and requested evidence.
- 514 pages of evidence were supplied by Lighthouse Global, and subsequent updates were passed to the company.
The material currently available to Lighthouse Global does not establish what conclusions KIBO Commerce/Monetate ultimately reached or what internal action it took.
That said, based on Richard Thomas’ online record, he no longer works for KIBO Commerce/Monetate, and he has been seeking employment for over 6 months.
This is not something to celebrate, but it is a recognition that there is no positive outcome in seeking to destroy someone else’s lives with truth or with falsehood. As we at Lighthouse release the findings from our empirical research from the last 22 years, present the facts and evidence to address the public smears and grow our reach globally, it can only get worse for Richard Thomas and others who’ve tried to destroy us. This means the likes of his predatory troll cohort, the BBC, the Daily Mail and the Insolvency Service.

Five lessons in honour
1. Preserve chronology. A true fact detached from its cause, motive and surrounding events can create a false impression. Chronology gives the essential context and background to any scenario.
2. Document before escalating. Anger is not evidence. Screenshots, dates, emails, URLs and contemporaneous records allow serious claims to be examined rather than merely asserted.
3. Make the constructive objective explicit. State what you want to stop, what you want to protect and what resolution you are seeking. Be equally prepared to state clearly what you are not seeking.
4. Use proportionate third-party mediation. Where direct reconciliation has failed, a responsible intermediary may help resolve matters before litigation or police action becomes necessary. The intermediary must test evidence fairly and allow the person complained about to respond.
5. Never use truth merely to destroy. Break down lies, expose wrongdoing and defend those under attack — but keep every necessary act of confrontation on a continuum towards building with truth.
Why the BBC needs to be wound up in the public interest
The BBC’s toxic framing attempted to make something honourable seem vengeful.
The BBC converted a documented attempt at intervention into the insinuation that Lighthouse Global tries to punish “critics” through their employers. The documented record shows a materially different reality: prolonged evidence-gathering, prior attempts at resolution, a proportionate escalation, a request for independent examination, and explicit concern that Mr Thomas should not lose his livelihood if that outcome could be avoided.
The BBC lie about the forced licence fee-paying public (us) in the so-called public interest, and lie to the public (yourselves the forced licence fee payer), again in the so-called public interest. This is why we are holding them accountable publicly with full consequence and compensation to both us and the public.
When the BBC tried to destroy Lighthouse, it deliberately presented the views of a handful of people who had clear vested interests, longstanding grievances and/or previous conflicts with us.
This was a case of toxic framing at a much higher and more sinister level. They targeted a healthy, supportive, purpose-built research community. A community that has pioneered insights into human development in all areas of life and business. The BBC deliberately, deceptively, and manipulatively framed this community as a cult.
The reason why the BBC did their despicable hit piece in the first place is because we, the public, have let the anti-Christ Establishment cult get away with weaponising Aunty Beeb for too long.
The BBC’s A Very British Cult was and is despicable. This organisation ought to be wound up in the genuine public interest.
The BBC would laugh at the mere suggestion of the prospect, though. In their hubris they think that they are waaaaaay above being wound up in the public interest. They think they have a divine right to weaponise the state-funded broadcaster for their Establishment overlords… to lie and deceive the public with impunity.
They are wrong.
Because the BBC exists by virtue of the royal prerogative, it means the BBC must be dissolved and wound up in accordance with the terms of the BBC Charter for deceiving the public.
If there was ever an institution that ought to be wound up in the public interest it’s provably and undoubtedly the BBC. The BBC is both a danger and a liability to the public. It is categorically unsafe.
They are so past reform as an option. It would be like attempting to reform Jimmy Savile and the dozens like him. They need to be wound up. We are working on it feverishly. They owe Lighthouse’s Associates, families, clients and the public over decades, big time! It’s coming… just like the BBC was assured by Paul S. Waugh when ambushed in the street back in March 2023. It’s coming…
When they were told in the street, they didn’t believe it at the time ..they smirked even.. BUT BE ASSURED, FELLOW CITIZEN, THEY DO NOW!!
What it means to live according to the Honour Principle
If we claim to be dedicated to truth, then we must accept its demands even when they are costly. Truth requires courage enough to confront falsehood, humility enough to distinguish what the evidence proves from what it does not, and love strong enough to seek accountability without making destruction the objective.
Never permit someone to destroy you through falsehood. But never answer falsehood by making their destruction your purpose. Confront lies with facts, evidence and context. Hold wrongdoing accountable. Protect what is valuable and sacred. Break down what must be broken down — always in service of building with truth.

That is honour.
If you are new to our work at Lighthouse Global, read Paul S. Waugh’s statement on why the Establishment attacked us.

Hang on… so this is a thorough, rigorous account of the REALITY of what actually occurred regarding Richard Thomas, Lighthouse Global, Monetate / KIBO… AND it’s a lesson in legitimately using the truth to hold a wrongdoer accountable?
Uh oh. How utterly inconvenient for the BBC, their sources, and everyone who sought to destroy Lighthouse.
So here we go, are the BBC evil or stupid?! Because they have access to hundreds of hours of transcripts. They had every chance to receive all the evidence from Paul S. Waugh. They refused said evidence. They refused to interview anyone who genuinely spoke positively about Lighthouse.
So evil, yes, but they sound devastatingly stupid in their evil to have thought they could get away with this.
As we’ve always said, we will never stop seeking accountability, justice, reform and compensation. Here we go.
Fantastic work. God bless all involved in this.
May God help Mr Thomas and his wife to repent and come to Christ!
This is a comprehensive slam dunk and reality check. What I really appreciate is learning the reality between facts and context ie facts without context means that those facts lack meaning and therefore detract from truth. This is how the BBC were able to take an act of honour and turn it into something that seemed like a weaponise attack – ironically accusing Lighthouse of doing the very thing they were doing to us!
Great article, so thank you! I fine this really brings everything together for me, particularly the connection between human limitation, the Honour Principle and the wider spiritual battle we are living through. I believe the central point is absolutely right: confronting predatory behaviour cannot be separated from truth, responsibility and the courage to act honourably, and that same principle applies to understanding the systems that seek to limit humanity. The distinction between simply reacting to problems and actually getting to the root of them through Christ, truth and responsibility is what makes this such an important and genuinely challenging piece.
Really value the lessons that have come through this article. It was not just about completely decimating the BBC’s attempted smear, but it has offered lessons on how to respond with honour when it comes to confronting predatory trolls like Richard Thomas.
Really damning to show how the BBC is abusing its position of being commissioned through its Royal Charter. Every day we’re learning how important a BBC Class Action Lawsuit is.
Thank you for this great article. What really stands out to me is how important context, truth and the Honour Principle are when confronting wrongdoing. It is remarkable to see how an attempt to hold someone like Richard Thomas accountable could be presented as something entirely different when the full facts and context are ignored.
This is exactly how the BBC operates: they lie and cheat where it actually matters and attack those who challenge their wrongdoing. This is not a one-off, this has been going on for decades, with the BBC acting as the mouthpiece of the Establishment, and I really appreciate the call to wind them up!
This is another important reminder that we must keep seeking truth, accountability and justice while remaining grounded in honour and responsibility. God bless everyone.
Isn’t it interesting that in every case of those who have slandered and tried to smear Lighthouse as much as they can, like Mr Thomas, what they claim to be doing and why never adds up with how they behave and go about things. As the pertinent and correct point is made here: “surely if what he was doing in relation to his predatory trolling was so virtuous, then his employer would be proud of him and he may even be up for a promotion”… EXACTLY! That would make a lot of sense IF Mr Thomas was being the person he was claiming to be.. so why wasn’t that the case? Why is it that Mr Thomas won’t show up to a public debate with Paul Waugh and show the courage of his convictions? It’s exactly the same reason as to why the BBC won’t do this either and why all those who attacked Lighthouse on Reddit have remained so quiet and have evaded public scrutiny, even just a little bit, all this time.
They’re happy to hide behind an anonymous online forum, or a newspaper, or a public broadcaster where there is no fair debate, no objective scrutiny and no chance for those they’re attacking to have their fair and equal say. Then you look at the facts and how essential pieces are omitted and truths distorted as well as blatant lies told and it all adds up alright, it adds up to them being lying and malicious, cowardly smear campaigners. They are in fact the very thing they accuse Lighthouse of being. Oh the irony hey!? The hypocrisy. They reveal themselves and they know it. It’s only a matter of time before that public objective scrutiny comes and millions of people are seeing them for who they are. I pray they have sense and repent to put things right long before that.
Thank you for laying out clearly what ‘honour’ actually is and why it is such a valuable trait.
It is clear that The BBC has none of it. It is clear that they have their own agenda and will change any context and chronology of a single fact to weaponise and reframe reality for their own ends.
This is what predatory trolls do, this is what those with an axe to grind do, this is what people seeking to further their careers at any cost will do.
It is not what those who have apparently taken up the mission to serve the public do, because they would present both sides of the situation, they would explain why escalation to an employer was needed and they would present the full history and reasoning with as minimal bias as humanly possible.
This is such an eye opening article. What you have outlined here about Mr Thomas and why you contacted his employer, wow. I feel I should be shocked that the BBC turned it into a revenge attack, but sadly, I’m not. You have shown us on numerous occasions, with evidential proof, that the BBC have lied to make them out to be the ones looking after the publics interest.
I pray for Mr Thomas and his family…This was a clear case of holding someone accountable for his actions in wanting to destroy people who did nothing more than help him…
Thank you for this extremely thorough, evidenced and explicit account of exactly what took place with contacting the employer of Richard Thomas. This is exactly why context is absolutely indispensable and necessary. The BBC have consistently and intentionally omitted context to maintain their false story and whilst they thought they could do the same in our case over and over again, they completely underestimate people in Christ who are committed to truth. Therefore, by God’s grace, he has sustained us and helped us see and reveal the M.O. and intentions of the BBC, which they did not anticipate. I very much agree that the BBC are past the point of reform and they must be wound up in the public interest. They have violated citizens for generations with multiple examples of manipulations and lies which they expect citizens to fund through their licence fee. They have had every opportunity to put this right and they continue in their arrogance and unrepentance.
I also appreciate the clarity on what the Honour Principle is, how to live the Honour Principle and the five lessons in honour. It is absolutely disgraceful that I am only learning about this now but with every article, every revelation about the Establishment, the shock lessens. We were never supposed to know and understand how uneducated we are and this has been a huge part of why we were attacked.
